First Annual CCA Carwash Tour Highlights

With more than 100 carwash owners or operators in attendance, the first-ever CCA Carwash Tour was a resounding hit with participants. CCA members and non-members alike departed from The International Centre on the first day of the Convenience U CARWACS Show and travelled to three CCA member carwash sites. The tour visited Crosstown Carwash in Etobicoke, Valet Car Wash in Mississauga and a Pioneer Energy carwash site also in Mississauga.

Participants on the tour were able to see what makes each carwash site such a success. Crosstown maximizes profit through its carwash and express detailing centre, while Valet’s sprawling carwash includes bay washes, a tunnel wash, a detailing centre and an internet café for customers. Pioneer Energy provided a behind-the-scenes look at its site as the wash itself was shut down to allow tour participants to literally see the nuts and bolts of the operation. Each carwash showcased something different, illustrating that not all carwash sites are alike.

The CCA would like to thank everyone for attending the tour, with a special thank you to the three CCA member carwashes for generously sharing their facilities with the Carwash Tour participants.

CARWACS

Part of the Canadian Carwash Association's (CCA) mandate is to provide education for operators. One of the major ways that happens is through sessions at the CARWACS shows in Toronto and Calgary. As a member of CCA, operators are provided with free passes to either or both show, including all seminars.

The CCA will host a Carwash Tour and Keynote Speaker Presentation for carwash owners and operators at the upcoming Toronto Convenience U CARWACS trade show on March 8-9, 2016. The trade show brings convenience, gas and carwash business owners together for a two-day trade show with workshops on how to improve and grow business, and an exhibit floor offering the latest products and services for carwash professionals.

The CARWACS Keynote Speaker Presentation will explore the issues and challenges facing the carwash industry. Al MacDonald, Facility Operations and Network Development at Canadian Tire, will speak to CCA members prior to the AGM on Wednesday, March 9. MacDonald's presentation starts at 9:45 a.m., and the official start of the AGM is 10:45 a.m. Al MacDonald has made his presentation available to CCA members below:

Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL): How will it affect your business emails?

In 2014, the CCA hosted a special webinar on Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and its impact on business.

Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation came into effect on July 1, 2014. More than 1,000 spam complaints were made to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) within the first three days of the new law.

How does this impact your business email communications? What do you need to do? Ensure your organization is compliant with Canada’s new law. See the link in the member's only section below to view on On-Demand Webinar.

Members will receive a free pass to the March 8-9, CARWACS Toronto trade show. For more information contact the office by sending an email to office@canadaincarwas.ca.

Information about, including the promotion code for free pass to the seminars and the CARWACS trade show, is available once logged into the website.
