Our Speaker:
Mark Harris, National Account Executive, Group Relationships and Engagement, CFIB
Bio:
Mark Harris is the National Account Executive, Group Relationships and Engagement at the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), a role he took on after seven years as a General Manager. In this position, Mark led a team of District Managers committed to supporting small and medium-sized businesses.
In his new role, Mark works closely with Associations, Franchisors, and Group members, serving as their primary liaison to keep them informed about CFIB’s initiatives and offerings.
Mark’s entrepreneurial journey began in the 1970s when he owned a furniture business in Winnipeg, which he sold in 1982 due to government policies that negatively impacted small, independent businesses. Following the sale, Mark and his wife relocated to the United States, where they spent 34 years. During this time, Mark worked extensively with small and medium-sized businesses, collaborated with Fortune 500 companies, and ran his own business.
After retiring and relocating to Vancouver, Mark’s retirement was brief, lasting only a year before he joined CFIB, where he now applies his experience to support the success of independent businesses across Canada.
As a former business owner, Mark has a unique understanding of the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship. His passion for advocating for small business owners is deeply rooted in his own experiences, and he remains committed to ensuring their success in a dynamic business environment.
